School Reopening

Dear Parents

We have received notification today that Durham County Council is recommending that we should not open for nursery, reception, year 1 and year 6 until week beginning the 15th June. Thus next week we will continue to only be open for those children of key workers. We will provide further updates during week beginning 8th June.

Kind regards

Antonella Lupton

Home Learning - Half Term

Dear Parents/ Carers,

Unbelievably the first half of the summer term has  passed. Next week should be half term so we will not be setting any home learning for that week. We have been sent some amazing work from the children and know that you are doing a great job supporting them at home. So next week should be a week to rest and relax from the pressures of home learning! For the first week since February we are completely closing the school so we will not be responding to any messages as the staff need a well earned break!

Let us hope the sun shines.

Stay safe everyone

Kind regards

Antonella Lupton

Wow, what fantastic singing Sarah! I really love the expression you use when singing, it makes the words much more powerful.

    This Week's Song

Published on Tuesday 19 May 2020 by Crook Primary.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and especially at this time it is really important to help and support each other. Many of us are struggling with the effects of the Coronavirus and especially missing family and friends. This song, released by The Beatles in 1965 is all about asking for help from those close to you.

We are all looking out for each other - remember to take care of yourselves too.

    Take care,

    Mrs Hunter

    Diary Dates

We need you to help us!

We are trying hard to improve attendance at school and we need you to do the following things:

    • Attendance drops on a Friday especially before a holiday. Please make sure your child is in school every Friday and does not miss school because you have planned a long weekend.
    • Do not book routine doctors and dentist appointments during school time unless absolutely necessary and bring an appointment card to the office.
    • Holidays will not be granted unless exceptional circumstances. You must apply for leave of absence prior to booking any holiday to see if permission would be granted.
    • Please only keep your child off if they are really ill and not just under the weather. We can always contact you if we feel they need to go home.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us to improve attendance.
